He has three outstanding qualities:

Hywel has been a full-time Member of Parliament working at all times for us in the constituency and in the House of Commons. He refused all other paid employment and if he did receive a fee for a lecture or any other payment he donated it all to local charities.

Hywel has been a campaigning MP, returning from Parliament every weekend to hold surgeries and meetings to lead campaigns such as better access to Port Talbot Railway Station.

Hywel is a widely respected champion for Aberavon and Wales in Parliament, chairing the powerful Welsh Affairs Select Committee and leading many national campaigns on such issues as carers, disabilities and the future of the steel industry.
